Focus Porous multifunctional space

Porositi is a multifunctional spatial system accommodating a street market, hotel rooms, offices, lab space, a restaurant, and shared public programs. Its porosity allows these spaces to interlock and remain visually and spatially connected, giving occupants a heightened awareness of circulation, infrastructure, and program.

The project is located in Lincoln Heights and reimagines the historic Lincoln Heights Jail through a process of renovation, demolition, and replacement. Positioned adjacent to the LA River, the site negotiates industrial surroundings, residential edges, and the memory of a displaced street food market as an active architectural driver.

This moment marks the transition from aggregate massing to porous sectional logic, where infrastructure and circulation carve space rather than occupy it.
